I Be On My Suit & Tie Shit...

I had the honor of being one of two best men (Moon and I) in my good friends, better yet my brother and sisters wedding - Fame and V. This is a copy of my speech along with some pictures and a partial video of me giving the speech at the wedding.

"First I want to acknowledge Elwood and Janet Hackett and Linda Nelson the parents of the bride and groom..

And everyone that has participated in the planning and preparation of this amazing wedding and reception.

I know that Moon and I are both honored and humbled to have the title of Best Man..

When we found out that we would be The Best Men, we were like cool.. Because we've been planning the bachelor party since 2011 anyway.. Lol

So FYI this this version 3 of my speech.. The version without the special story or memory..

I had to scrap my original speech, because it had a story about Vegas in it.. and I sent it to Moon and he immediately hit me back like "you gonna get us kicked out the wedding with these Vegas lines".. I was like true so I had to delete all that shit! Lol

I swore my second speech was dope until I read it to Cease after we left a prestigious gentleman's club last night (that Chad is too good for).. But it had some lines about a trip we took to A.C. a minute ago and Cease was like "nah, we can't talk about Baby Vegas.. never talk about A.C." Lol

So now I'm here- version three.. it's somewhat incomplete story wise but as I reminisce, I realize that it's not.. there are many stories and memories that I could share.. they were all good times.. even the times I can't remember.

I know inside jokes are usually frowned upon at events like this.. But I need one moment.. if it's ok.. a moment that only the fellas and V would understand..

Fame is one if the wisest guys I know.. I never met a person that analyzes a situation from six different point of views before he reacts or gives advice. Lol. He's the true definition of Loyal.. holds me down even when I'm wrong..

Vonye.. you look beautiful. You're an amazing person with a caring spirit. And I can't imagine a more perfect woman for Fame than you.

Now I'd usually drink the champagne straight from the bottle but it may be a little to early for that.. so I'm gonna chill for a few more minutes

Master of.. Fig Trees..?

So.. I just recently started watching the most amazing show The Master of None which debuted on Netflix last year. My man Ira told me that it was a dope show worth checking out and his quick analysis turned out to be correct. This comedy drama is awesome, the writing is superb, and the casting is damn near perfect. I binged watched the entire first season yesterday. But the season finale left something with me, something heavy.  There is a scene where Dev Shah played by Aziz Ansari, is in a bookstore reading a book. And the viewer is somewhat in his head as listeners, like an aside or soliloquy, and we hear what he is reading as the scenes change. As I re-winded and listened to (about five times) the excerpt from the novel, "The Bell Jar" written by Sylvia Plath. Coach K.. Duke Basketball..? Nah. Coach K.. Middle School Cheerleading!

So... A lot of people are asking me how I got into coaching cheerleading. And honestly- it’s a legitimate question. Lol. So today, I tell the world.. How I got my start in cheerleading… One day in October I was speaking to my school’s athletic director about a position that he wanted me to take in the spring, coaching boys track. This was a coaching job that was supposed to be mine last year but he gave it to someone else because he forgot to confirm the position with me. I was somewhat upset about it last year but he apologized and guaranteed me the job this school year. During our conversation, he began telling me how he was struggling to find a candidate in our building to coach the cheerleading team. It’s a tough place to work already, so dedicating your time and effort after regular hours is even tougher.
