Proud Dad.. No Tears...
As I prepped my four year old son for his preschool Graduation earlier this evening.. I told him that I was proud of him.. and he asked "Daddy what's that mean?".. I hesitated and thought for a quick second.. `How can I define the word proud so that a preschooler could understand?`
So after a moment I told him, "Proud means that I like and appreciate your actions, that your doing good things.. and it makes me happy." He looked at me with a face that was half happy and half confused.. I smiled and quickly told him to brush his teeth.

As I began to get him dressed (before his mom came in and switched everything lol) I told him "No Tears" and he smiled and repeated it back to me.
Let me explain `No Tears`.. Kam is not a fan of new people or large crowds.. (Drake`s song "No New Friends" just popped into my head lol) So when he gets nervous or scared.. My manly, fatherly way of combating the softness and crying is the phrase "No Tears". Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
But nevertheless Kameron was the life of the party.. the graduation. He performed all the songs, smiled nonstop, gave me the thumbs up multiple times, and he even danced a little bit..
Today he made me proud..
So proud...
To the point where I had to remind myself "No Tears".. lol
And I know that it's okay for men to cry.. But can you imagine me with tears running down my cheek while a bunch of soccer moms look on..?

LOL.. No sir, not me!
But Tears of Joy poured.. spiritually and mentally...
I love this kid.. Fatherhood is an amazing experience.. (demanding and tough too) but his face, his actions, his growth.. make it all very worth it.
